Slukder

I don’t think it should be this cold around here!

~Group of Two investigating Slukder trails
Slukder
Planet of origin: Yynglea
Forms of damage
Spit: 15
Bite: 20
Attacks per turn: 1 – 2
Initiative: 19 (Slow)
Height: 80 cm
Average weight: 50 kg
Average health: 180
First appearance: Chapter 7

The creature comes from the planet Yynglea, where there are many different Slukder variations. On their home planet, all Slukder species are beautifully colored and often have multi-colored stripes or patches on their skin. Slukders outside their home planet lose color very quickly and turn gray, probably due to the fact that they take their dyes directly from food. Slukders are frog-like creatures that have an incredible ability to create a freezing substance. During the hunt, Slukders spit a freezing substance on their prey and then try to swallow it into their big, strong dewlap, where the prey is quickly cooled down. All digestion of the victim takes place in highly concentrated gastric acid at a temperature close to nitrogen condensation.

Weaknesses

Slukder’s weakness heatmap

Slukder’s weakness map represents the probability of weak points spawning on various alien body parts. Green color highlights the areas where these points generate less often, whereas, in the places marked red, they appear most frequently. Please note that in no way does it affect the damage dealt unless you attack the weak point directly.

Special action (Self Freezing)

Slukder’s special action
  • Slukder is defending itself by self-freezing and then using empowered attacks.
  • There’s a 25% chance the creature’s special action will activate.
  • This action inflicts both Stun and Hatred effects on a survivor. The survivor with the Hatred debuff will suffer triple the damage for a duration of two rounds.

Resistances

Slukders seem to have very sensitive eyes, not yet adapted to Earth’s conditions. As such, they are highly vulnerable to blinding attacks. Make no mistake, though, get too close, and them being blind is nothing in the face of you being out cold (literally).

  •  Bleed – 15% vulnerability
  •  Blind – 170% vulnerability
  •  Dizzy – 5% vulnerability
  •  Fear – 45% vulnerability
  •  Hatred – 30% vulnerability
  •  Ignite – 65% vulnerability
  •  Poison – 20% resistance
  •  Stun – 30% resistance

Resistances affect a weapon’s base debuff multiplier (100%). With no resistance, the chance to apply a debuff is what you see on a weapon’s card. So, for example, if your weapon has a 10% Poison enhancement, each hit with that weapon has 10% (base chance) * (100% – 0%) (base debuff multiplier) = 10% chance to apply Poison debuff. However, with Slukders’ 20% resistance against the debuff, that number is lowered to 10% * (100% – 20%) = 2% chance. Alternatively, a weapon with a 10% Hatred enhancement would be more effective due to Slukder being vulnerable to the Hatred debuff. 10% * (100% + 30%) = 13% chance to make the target hate you.
