Sinsecta once was very similar to Earth technology-wise, although their knowledge of biology and chemistry was much more advanced. The rich ruled the world while the poor had to survive for themselves. All that changed, however, when the Demons and the Stream of the Worlds arrived at the planet which murdered the rich and gave food to the poor. That ultimately convinced Hoppers to conquer other worlds.
